VE DAY 80th Celebration

A Weekend of Historic Celebration – Dover College .

Poltimore House and Grounds became the wartime home for Dover College and is fondly remembered by many pupils. The boys formed the Home Guard and enjoyed many ‘squirmishes’ with neighbouring Bradninch Company, Silverton and Broadclyst platoons.  There are some wonderful and poignant memories from the pupils and staff which will be availalble to read at Branches Cafe throughout the remembrance celebration.

“Do not forget Poltimore.  It was a good place and served us well in hard times and, to some, it is the only Dover College they have known.”  (The Devonian Editorial Summer 1945)
