National Lottery Heritage Fund awards a £156k grant to help save Poltimore House!

With grateful thanks to the The National Lottery Heritage Fund and generous private donors, we’re delighted to report a breakthrough in bringing Poltimore House back to life!

Despite the disastrous arson attack in 2024, much of architectural and historic value remains in the House and we’re committed to keeping it safe.Despite the disastrous arson attack in 2024, much of architectural and historic value remains in the House and we’re committed to keeping it safe.

Work on safeguarding the most vulnerable parts of the building, including dismantling parts of the fire-damaged scaffolding, is now underway. This helps to reduce risks to the historic structure and opens the way to an imaginative new future for Poltimore House.

Poltimore House Trust’s vision is to bring this amazing building back to life as a focal point for the arts, local businesses, education, wellbeing and the community.

The Trust is now seeking funding for Stage Two, which involves removing the rubble and debris from inside the House, and making the rest of the structure safe.
